Today the front 9 was scheduled to be closed for aeration of the greens, approaches and tees. After midnight last night we received 40mm of rain leaving the course too saturated to begin the coring process.
Rain remains in tomorrow's forecast as well, minimizing the available time to carry out this important process this week on greens. Hopefully at least tees, and approaches can be completed Wednesday and Thursday to move a few items off our busy task list to complete this fall as we prepare for winter.
The good news is that this Friday's Director's will play on smooth greens for a change! Let's hope the weather cooperates!
Plan B might work out that we go out and aerate the greens next week on Monday with even smaller 1/4" tines before our scheduled topdressing to get some relief and seeding opportunity while the temperatures are on our side.
After last night's storm, most of the staff that wasn't sent home is busy shoveling up washed out bunkers again today starting on the greensides.
Enjoy your round!
