Lupins in full-bloom near the 8th tee today |
A third of an inch of rain fell early evening to wash in sand and help speed up recovery from this week's green & tee aeration and last week's fairway verticutting. The rain will also help seed germinate more quickly broadcast in holes following aeration.
Today Environment Canada is calling for it to be cloudy with sunny periods and 30 percent chance of showers this morning and early this afternoon with risk of a thunderstorm. Clearing this afternoon. High 25. UV index 6 or high.
Golf carts ARE PERMITTED today. Green speed is a slower 7.5 due to recent aerification and wet weather.
Scheduled weed spray for today was postponed due to windy conditions and will resume next week weather permitting. No weed sprays have been able to be completed so far this year with wet conditions and other priorities during good weather.
Work will continue today to take sod from chipping green to plug remaining bare spots on green expansion areas that remain. Touchups of damage from fairway verticutting process will also be addressed as well. This damage was more evident in undulated areas and wet locations.
