May 31st

Lilac violet flowers in bloom by Proshop
What a month May has been with extreme heat and dry conditions.  We had 9 days that were over 25 degrees compared to only 3 in 2011.  In April and May this year we've had only 84 mm of rain compared to 221 mm last year.

Today Environment Canada has predicted it to be sunny with a high of 18. UV index 8 or very high. Tonight:  A few clouds. Increasing cloudiness after midnight. Low down to single digits at 7 degrees.  It is only supposed to get up to 13 degrees for a high on the weekend.  Thankfully looking like no risk of frost with lows only down to 10 degrees.

Carts ARE PERMITTED for full use again today with the extremely firm and dry conditions.  Please try and vary traffic to minimize wear from golf carts.  Green speeds should start approaching the higher end of the mid-season target at this time.

Final preparations are being made for setting up the course for the Dave Ellis Pro Am this Monday.

The first Primo Maxx + fertilizer spoon feed spray is being applied to the tees this morning following mowing, to help regulate growth and promote stress conditioning of the turf.

Have a great round!
