May 3rd

Doug and Edmond mixing soil and seed for minor course repairs
The arrival of warmer temperatures and sunshine yesterday was welcomed after a month long stretch of cool weather.  After the frost finally lifted yesterday, the temperature reached 19 C by the afternoon shedding those winter jackets worn over the last month.  A much needed 15 mm of warm rain fell later in the day to help kick-start the turf and get it growing again.

Today Environment Canada predicts it to be cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers this afternoon with risk of a thunderstorm. Fog patches dissipating this morning. High 18. UV index 3 or moderate. Tonight:  Showers ending after midnight then cloudy. Risk of a thunderstorm this evening and after midnight. Fog patches developing near midnight. Low 14.

Golf carts ARE PERMITTED.  Please stay to paths where provided whenever possible.

Fairway topdressing will continue today with the sandy fairways on back 9.  With the rain and damp conditions the scheduled greens will be postponed until this coming Tuesday May 8th.

The back of No.17 tee needs sodding again due to wear and poor growing conditions.  The green tees have been moved temporarily forward down below to the yellow tee deck to take the wear off the upper tee.  This will not affect your handicap posting requirements.  Sodding is planned on No. 17 tee and No. 14 tee next week.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

The irrigation system has been charged and there seems to be no major issues so far.  We are ready for the heat so bring it on!

Enjoy your round!
