June 2nd

40mm of rain fell in last 24 hours
After 4 weeks, a good rain fell finally with over 40 mm in the rain can!  Much needed rain but it has put a damper on the weekend and prep work for upcoming Pro Am.  Fast and firm will now be difficult with more rain in forecast for later today and tomorrow.

Golf carts are limited to MEDICAL ONLY BACK 9 today.  Those who NEED a cart to play will be granted access to the back 9.  If you wish to play 18 you will have to play the back 9 twice.

Greens were cut this morning.  A lot of debris needed to be blown off before mowing.  Therefore the bunkers are taking a second priority this morning with available manpower and may not be raked with rain coming in this afternoon.  A least the bunkers didn't wash out!

Temperatures are now back to being below normal. Today Environment Canada predicts it to be cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers this morning and early this afternoon. Showers beginning this afternoon. Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light this afternoon. High 14. Tonight: Showers. Low 10. Sunday:  A few showers ending in the evening then cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers. Wind becoming northwest 20 km/h in the evening. High 15.

With 4 weeks without rain the course could really use a soaking.  Many isolated hydrophobic areas throughout the property have focussed our resources with a lot of time hand watering.  There is no replacement for a good rain!!

Yesterday morning, green speeds were on the rise reaching our summer target range.  But the rain has created some softer, slower conditions until the soil profiles drain excess moisture.

Please note that our dining room and veranda are now open for lunch and dinner.  Please call the Club for reservations.
