Yesterday we did a blitz of maintenance on the greens to help them recover from the heat and drought stress of this summer timed just after the Club Championship. We want to take advantage of the ideal weather for overseeding and establishing new grasses with the slightly cooler night-time temperatures with the soil temps still warm enough for seed germination.
The GREENS were VERTICUT and MOWED prior to VENTING, TOPDRESSING and ROLLING. Select struggling green expansion areas on greens were CORE AERIFIED with 1/2" tines on 1" spacing and the cores removed to incorporate more sand into the profile and OVERSEEDED with T-1 bentgrass.
No. 3 green was cored and overseeded in damaged areas from summer heat stress to recover turf and promote more bentgrass. |

Have a great round!!!
