October 4th

Drill and Fill process starts on greens this Tuesday after Thanksgiving
Perhaps another wet day in store as Environment Canada predicts it to be mainly cloudy with 30 percent chance of showers early this morning and 70 percent chance this afternoon. Wind becoming west 20 km/h this afternoon. High 20. Tonight: Mainly cloudy. 70 percent chance of showers early this evening with a few showers beginning overnight. Wind west 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low 11.

Golf carts ARE permitted.  Please avoid wet spots and keep carts on paths where provided and stay well back from green surrounds as indicated by the white lines.

The process of aerating, removing cores, overseeding and topdressing of the fairway expansion areas to improve the turf density has concluded for this week other than a little topdressing to finish this morning.   We got up to hole No. 14 in the process leaving 14-18 to complete in the coming week (weather permitting).

Next week starting on Tuesday morning (after Thanksgiving) soil greens will be drill and fill aerated to improve drainage and soil profile.  More details will be included on tomorrow's blog post to mention any closure details needed during the process.  Check out www.mlgccgreens.blogspot.ca for more details on the drill and fill process.

Have a great round!
