Due to the civic holiday, there will NOT be a men's day today. It will however be played tomorrow, with a 8am shotgun for regular play in the morning, and 1:30 Shotgun in the afternoon.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
Today Environment Canada is again calling for it to be sunny, with a mix of sun & cloud this afternoon High 23. UV index 7 or high. Tonight will be cloudy with a low of 10.
GOLF CART USAGE
A few soggy spots remain after this week's 60mm of rainfall. Please keep carts on paths where possible and avoid any low lying areas and keep carts 'high and dry'. Try and stay back from greensites by keeping carts outside of white lines.
PLAYING CONDITIONS
Greens
Greens will be sprayed with Primo Maxx growth regulator, and foliar fertilizers this morning.
Greens will be starting to pick up speed again today as the course dries up after the recent rains. Greens were cut and rolled today with speeds of approximately 9.5.
The low spot on the front of No. 5 green was sodded Thursday. This will fix the 'bird bath' at the front that caused winter damage from water not being able to drain off the front of the green.

Tees, Fairways, and Approaches
These playing surfaces will be mowed on Tuesday in preparation for men's day. The tee divots continue to be maintained by our staff, and will continue over this busy weekend. Please do your part in filling fairway and rough divots ONLY.
Rough
The rough mow crew caught up at the end of the week despite challenging wet conditions. With some sunny skies now, we expect the turf will really start to grow, so the rough may be a little long by the start of next week.
Bunkers
Standing water in our poorly draining end of life bunkers was removed yesterday. The playability of the bunkers will improve as the sand has a little time to dry. The bunkers were fan raked for today's rounds. We will be conducting a BUNKER SAND TRAIL later next week at the driving range. The bunker left of the chipping green will be filled with three different sands to get your feedback on type of sand we should select for the future bunker renewal program.
Driving Range
The driving range finally opened for FULL USE this week after a treacherous wet spring. The seed from last fall is starting to come up out on the range and will slowly change the bare soil from the prolonged flooded conditions to green over the next couple of weeks. We will overseed the range this coming Wednesday (weather permitting) during it's regular closure time to help fill an any bare areas.
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'. The rough right of No. 4 fairway has been aerified and overseeded and roped off to allow recovery.

Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots. If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS and ROUGH ONLY. Do not use sand tubes or bottles to fix tee divots!!! It is different seed and it's the golf course maintenance staff responsibility to repair all tee divots on a periodic basis. Using the sand and seed mix on tees will also deplete your available material for fixing fairway and rough divots prematurely! Thanks for your cooperation!
UPCOMING TURF PRACTICES
- Greens verticut and topdressed
- Fairway Primo Maxx + Triton (dollar spot) application
Have a great round!
