All Geared Up With Mid-July Upon Us

Trees trimmed again right of No. 2 tee to improve sight lines of roadway traffic
We are well into July nearing the mid-way point of the month.  The course is holding up nicely with all the frequent rains keeping the stress off the turf.  The World Cup has just ended with Germany clinching the title, and later this week starts the British Open is set to begin in England this week at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club.

The Club is hosting its own events as well this week with the Ladies' Day Member Guest this Wednesday with an 8 and 1:30 shotguns.  The July Junior Championships will take place on Thursday, and the Challenge Cup this Saturday morning.

No major maintenance is scheduled this week on the course's playing surfaces.  There will be some work done around the peripherals of the property with trimming of long grass and sapplings to help speed up play.  This will be done right of No. 6 fairway and No. 7 tee.  The bank on the left side of No. 18 will also be mowed down.

The bunkers took another beating with the rain Sunday morning.  They have been pumped out today and hard raked to loosen up the hard packed sand.  We have another load of bunker sand being delivered this week to enable us to continue topping up bunkers in need.

Have a great round!
