Great Day Predicted But Wet Weather On Its Way

Full Moon was out for this morning's start of work

As the days are getting shorter, the mornings are getting darker it's harder to see for the start of our work day shift out on the golf course.  However this morning with the full moon out, the morning was a lot brighter to get out and prepare for today's work.

It's Monday, so Men's Day will be off with a shotgun at 1:30pm.  There is an 8:00am shotgun for regular member play.  The course is being prepared this morning with greens cut and pins changed, collars, approaches, and fairways being mowed, bunkers raked and the rough around the green surrounds will get their first cut of the week.  The greens will be rolled in between groups during the morning shotgun.

Enjoy the weather today as it's looking like a great day ahead with sunny skies and a high of 28. Tomorrow, a slow moving low system of wet weather is coming through from the southwest hitting a good part of all of Southern and Central Ontario bringing with it rain and lower temperatures.  Tuesday there is 20 to 40 mm of rainfall, with traces of rain lingering until the Saturday expected.

Hopefully the bunkers don't take too much of a beating from with the upcoming rains as we prepare the course this week for the upcoming Club Championships this weekend.  If the weather cooperates, we plan to get out and put more sand in any bunkers needing a little top-up.

Behind the scenes at our upper yard area, the long awaited Coverall building reconstruction finally begins Tuesday after the building's collapse this winter from excessive snowfall.  With the work going on there will be some activity up in the area right of No. 4 green.  The process of erecting the building should take just over a week to complete.

In the golf world, Rory McIlroy won his 4th major championship at the young age of 25 yesterday winning the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club shooting a 32 on the back 9 to win by one shot over Phil Mickelson with a final score of -16.

Have a great round!
