Good playing surfaces maintained after aeration

Yesterday's greens aeration with 1/4" hollow tines gave the greens a much needed breath of fresh air after the recent heavy traffic over the balance of August and wet conditions that have prevailed. After the light topdressing and a roll the greens are very smooth and provide a great playing surface for putting immediately after!

Some bentgrass seed was again broadcast into the aeration holes for some encouragement of the hardier grass species.  Our last granular nitrogen fertilizer application was applied to nourish the turf plants to aid in the recovery process.

A little more topdress was applied this morning and matted in before play to fill in remaining holes

This morning before play, some extra sand was applied and matted in to fully top up the aeration holes.  Some soluble fertilizer was sprayed out to give a little kick start in recovery.

Today there will be increasing cloudiness with showers beginning early this afternoon and risk of a thunderstorm. Wind becoming southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50 early this afternoon with a high of 23.

Enjoy your round!
