The summer season has begun and the golf course is prepped and ready for today's Ladies Invitational Event starting at 1 pm. It's looking like a great day for golf with the temperatures in the mid-20's.
It's been nice to have the recent break in the weather from the extreme heat. The cooler temperatures as of late have given the greens the necessary conditions to aid the recovery from the recent greens aeration.
As an added bonus to the event, the new bunkers on No. 5 will be opened for play. The new bentgrass sod on the widened fairway located right of the old fairway bunkers will remain "ground under repair" at this time until the mowing heights have been dropped later next week.
Please remember to enter and exit the new bunkers on the low side. Please stay off steep bunker faces to avoid causing damage to the sodded slopes.
