Hole No. 10 now open for play June 16th |
Just before the Dave Ellis Pro Am, the new bunkers on No. 10 were completed with the last roll of sod going down on Friday June 3rd. Today, nearly two weeks later the sod has now rooted and stable enough to open for play.
The bunker boards have been removed but the stakes will remain in place for the next little while to help make sure the edges remain in tact. We remind players to enter and exit the new bunkers on the low side to avoid damaging the sod edges. This is a good practice for any bunker regardless of whether it's new or old. Please continue to use this method on all bunkers on the property to help preserve the steep faces.
Players hitting off the tee will now have some strategic target bunkers which help frame the required shot on their drives. The big hitters will have to think twice before letting the big bomb go to avoid ending up in the expanded front right greenside bunker.
The new fairway bunkers on Hole No. 5 that were completed last Friday, will remain closed and 'Ground Under Repair' for at least another week before they will be opened. Please stay off and out of these bunkers and use the provided ball retrievers to fetch your ball.
The greens are on the road to recovery after this week's aeration on Monday and Tuesday. They look a little beat up at the moment but should recoup by next week after the affect from the bentgrass seed, fertilizer and water.
We look forward to the start of next week's summer season events starting on Monday with the first Men's Day!
