Yesterday we were lucky and missed the severe rainfall that swept the surrounding area to the west of us. The course is only moderately wet at this time in some locations. We received one third of an inch of light rainfall up to this morning that was able to soak into the rootzone and relieve some of the drought stress.
Perhaps another damp day in Muskoka but radar indicates the potential to miss what is coming up from the south. Environment Canada is calling for it to be cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers this morning and early this afternoon. Risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon. High 21. UV index 3 or moderate. Tonight there calling for showers with a risk of a thunderstorm early this evening. Low 17.
Golf carts ARE PERMITTED today. However please avoid wet areas and use cart paths where provided. Green speed is 8.5 feet with damp conditions.
Today work will continue to clean up drainage work behind 1 green with sod. Good we completed this work another wet stretch of weather. A new 4 inch drain was installed with 12 inch basins located in low areas. Extra sod will be placed in the drainage areas seeded this spring by 7 green and 8 green that never germinated before the weekend.
| Drainage installation behind 1 green finished today |
A reminder that greens will be lightly topdressed this coming Tuesday morning June 28th (weather permitting).
