Greens sprayed preventatively with Banner Maxx for summer patch today

We are heading into another weekend already.  Last night the temps never dropped below 19 C which is bring soil temperatures up and kick starting the turf into high gear.  Another dry week with no rain and some hots days with low humidity has left the course fast and firm for the weekend.

Today Environmnent Canada is calling for it to be a mix of sun and cloud with 60 percent chance of showers late this morning and early this afternoon with risk of a thunderstorm. Clearing this afternoon. Wind south 20 km/h becoming west 20 this afternoon. High 24. UV index 8 or very high. Tonight:  Clear. Wind west 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low 13.

Golf carts ARE PERMITTED for full use today.  Please scatter, use cart paths where provided and stay outside the white lines around green surrounds.

What Summer patch disease looks like on a green

Greens will be sprayed today with Banner Maxx, a fungicide for preventative control  of summer patch which we have had a history of getting in the past.

We had a short work week after a long weekend and the all day Club wide training on Thursday.  Many of the extra projects on the list were not completed this week as a result of the need to focus on the regular maintenance routine.  Next week we will get back into the sod prepping of areas and other spring touchups.

The 3rd annual Club wide training day went well with a very informative day on Health and Safety and Environmental training and a chance for all departments in intermingle and bond a little before a busy season.
