June 20th

Yesterday's high got up to 30 degrees out on the course.  We received another 3mm of rain later yesterday afternoon that broke the severe heat dropping temperatures by nearly 10 degrees Celsius down to 21.  Last night temps maintained close to 20 falling only to 18.5 by 6am this morning.

This warm, humid weather is ideal for the development of dollar spot disease.  While we spray  preventatively for this disease on greens, on tees and fairways we employ more of a curative approach.  We will continue to monitor the situation and if conditions continue, we may have to apply a curative treatment which is something we seldom have to do.

Today is the first Ladies' day of the season starting at 1pm.

Environment Canada is calling for it to be sunny with fog patches dissipating this morning. High 32 except 28 near Georgian Bay. UV index 9 or very high. Tonight: Clear. Low 21.

Golf carts ARE PERMITTED for full use today.  Please scatter carts and avoid low-lying areas which may be still saturated from recent rainfall.  Use cartpaths where provided and keep back 30 yards from green surrounds.

Greens and Tees are being sprayed this morning with Primo Maxx and foliar fertilizer to moderate growth and provide necessary nutrients for healthy turf plants.
Sodding area left of No. 11 Green

Yesterday the project of cleaning up cart exit area left of No. 11 green.  The Golpla was removed and the area was core aerified to remove compaction and resodded.  Carts will be detoured to the left up hill around by No. 12 to path while sod has a chance to take root.

Have a great round!
