| Greens rollers taking a break in the shade |
Today is the last Ladies' day of the month of July with an 8 am shotgun this morning.
WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Yesterday's high reached 23 degrees with moderate humidity and no rainfall to dry up the course. Last night's low was 12 degrees keeping temps into the double digits to maintain soil temps for seed germination. Today is expected to be cloudy with fog patches dissipating early this morning and a high of 25. UV index 5 or moderate. Tonight, will be cloudy with showers or thunderstorms beginning this evening with accumulaton of 15 to 25 mm of rain expected with a low of 15.
DRIVING RANGE CLOSURE:
The Driving Range is now open for FULL USE! The rain has stopped and the ball picker is able to travel around most of the collection area. A reminder that the range will be closed for it's regular routine maintenance today from 9:30 to 12 pm.
GOLF CART USAGE:
Golf carts are available today for full use but continue to use caution to avoid isolated wet areas from recent rainfall. Use cart paths where provided whenever possible to avoid unnecessary wear. Scatter cart traffic to avoid concentrated wear patterns.
COURSE CONDITIONS:
Greens
Greens will be mowed and target rolled this morning. Greens speeds are 10 feet with no rainfall in last 36 hours. Greens 10, 12, 14, 17 and 18 were dimple seeded yesterday with the borrowed walk-behind unit dimpler. We will seed the remaining isolated areas on No. 3, 5, and 7 on Thursday before the long weekend. The weather is prime for bentgrass seeding at the moment!
Rough
Green surrounds are complete and starting on tee and fairway bunker surrounds. Today once the Ladies shotgun goes off, the rough mowers will move down to tennis and the driving range to help make for a quieter round for the Ladies!
Bunkers
Sand was fan raked before this morning's shotgun.
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots. If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS and ROUGH ONLY. Do not use sand tubes or bottles to fix tee divots!!! It is different seed and it's the golf course maintenance staff responsibility to repair all tee divots on a periodic basis. Using the sand and seed mix on tees will also deplete your available material for fixing fairway and rough divots prematurely! Thanks for your cooperation!
UPCOMING TURF PRACTICES:
- Continuing dimple seeding on greens 3, 5, and 7 before weekend.
- Finish plugging No. 10 approach
- Sodding the front of No. 5 low spot Thursday
- Fairway Primo Maxx + Triton (dollar spot) application Thursday
- Greens verticut and topdressed Thursday August 8th
Have a great round!
