Ladies Member Guest Event Today at MLG&CC

This afternoon is the Ladies Member Guest event with a shotgun start at 12:30pm.  The course is nicely prepped for today's tournament and all the participants should have a great day.

A conscious decision this year was made to core aerate greens earlier this year in the first week of May, to ensure there was no disruption from recovering greens for the Ladies Member Guest.  Typically the greens have been aerated the 2nd week in June (the week after the Ladies Golf Camp) for many years which could affect the greens quality for the tournament depending on weather and the speed of recovery.  We hope everyone enjoys the conditions this year with no remnants from aeration!

The newly renovated 6th green surrounds will be opened for today's tournament.  The bunkers are still CLOSED (ground under repair) and we ask everyone to STAY OFF BUNKER FACES and use the supplied BALL RETRIEVERS to fetch you balls out of the bunkers to prevent damaging the sodded edges.

NEW BUNKERS CLOSED!  Please use ball retriever to scoop out balls that may go into bunkers

After putting out on No. 6 green, please proceed to the start of No. 7 fairway to tee off on the 7th hole.  You can drive up and around the new path on No. 7.  The course washroom was relocated this week going up the path towards the 12th tee.  It is in the midst of getting water hookup to the plumbing, and therefore is closed at this time and will be opened before the weekend.  The new 7th tees are scheduled to open July 1st.  Thanks for you patience as we complete these exciting new course enhancements.

New 7th tees scheduled to open July 1st!

Washroom relocated to path going up towards 12th tee.

The project on No. 6 and 7 is nearing completion.  The work that remains is the paving of the cartpaths, hydroseeding fescue along the hillsides, completion of the upper No. 6 tees and the relocation of the fairway bunker on No. 7 fairway to the right side of the fairway.

The fairway bunker on No. 7 is planned to be relocated due to the fact the newly aligned tees to the right make hitting the existing landing area very difficult without hitting the pines on the right side of the hole exiting the chute.  The new target line is just off the left edge of the fairway nearest the existing fairway bunker.

Have a great round!
