Routine mow day today in prep for weekend |
Yesterday's maintenance operation of venting the greens went smoothly. The small, golfer friendly holes allow better water penetration, soil heat and harmful gas venting and oxygenation of the rootzone. The greens were immediately rolled following the procedure to smooth out any turf that was lifted during the operation. Later, a light layer of sand was topdressed over the putting surfaces to fill in the holes. The sand was incorporated into the turf canopy using our vibratory rollers which left a smooth true surface with less stress on the turf then brushing.

Another hot day predicted today. Environment Canada is calling for it to be mainly sunny. Fog patches dissipating early this morning. High 29. UV index 9 or very high. Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 15.
Golf carts ARE permitted. Green speed is 9.5 feet.
Today is a full routine mow day in preparation for this weekend. The greens, tees, and fairways will all be mowed this morning. The fairways were given an extra day to dry after Wednesday's heavy rainfall. Overall the course accepted the 47mm of rain well other than the bunkers that need to be rebuilt to allow the sand to drain into the tile lines quicker.

Today greens will be sprayed with foliar fertilizer and Triton fungicide. Triton provides broad-spectrum, systemic, residual disease control of key turf diseases, such as anthracnose, brown patch and dollar spot. Use rates of Triton are the lowest of any DMI fungicide on the market.
