The Course Opens Saturday April 28th at 11.00 AM

On behalf of the entire management team, we are very pleased to be to opening the golf course, Saturday, April 28th, at 11 am, nearly two weeks earlier than normal. With the summer like conditions in early March, the management team had set a goal to open the Professional Shop, Liliwood and the Golf Course on April 27th. Of course Mother Nature and her fickle ways had a few plans of her own. The weekend before Easter found the property with a fresh blanket of snow, with the entire Muskoka region receiving nearly 15 cm over two days! With blustery conditions this week, more snowfall, and a little sleet for good measure, we were tempted to push the opening back until Wednesday, May 2nd. However, given the weather man's promise of sunny skies this upcoming weekend, and the tenacity of our hearty grounds crew, we are happy to report that the course is playable for this coming weekend! There is still some work left to accomplish to get the property back to the condition we are used to providing. For instance, with the temperatures dropping to below freezing overnight, we aren't yet able to put out the ball washers, or open the washroom facility at the 7th/12th tee. There is also a possibility of heavy frost. Also, early this week all of the greens were aerated, but the wet weather Monday and Tuesday slowed the staff from top-dressing and matting some of the holes, and as a result you may find the greens to be a little slow and bumpy for the first few days. Golf cart usage may be limited depending on the amount of rainfall received. Jordan and his Professional Team will be here to assist with bags and prepare your cart, and Liliwood will be open with a modified menu of sandwiches, hotdogs and sausages, chips, hot chocolate and of course cold beer! We look forward to having the heartiest of golfers/weather-bravest players come out and be the first to play the course for the 2012 season. Thank you in advance for your understanding while the team continues with the usual spring set up and prep work over the next couple of weeks. On behalf of the entire management team and staff, Trevor Noonan General Manager
