August 10th

Another PGA Tour major this weekend in South Carolina
The rain has finally moved into the area for an extended period.  So far since yesterday we have received only 11mm or just under 1/2" of rain.  Today the rain will continue with at least an inch of rain expected with a high of 21 degrees.  Environment Canada has changed the forecast for the weekend with rain on Saturday but not on Sunday now.

Golf carts ARE PERMITTED for full use today.  Please keep carts on paths where provided and avoid low lying wet areas and scatter traffic to avoid compaction of turf areas.

Overseeding of bentgrass and topdressing of expanded fairway areas was completed yesterday.  This was excellent timing just before the rain.  Many struggling rough areas were overseeded as well to aid recovery and promote more tolerant, hardy grasses instead of letting poa creep into these areas.  Over the next couple weeks the course should show some noticeable rebound from the heat and drought conditions this summer.

A reminder that greens will be topdressed this coming Tuesday morning.

Have a great weekend!
