August 1st

Bentgrass overseeded into 1/4" holes yesterday on select greens
It's August 1st!  Where did July go?  Today is the first Ladies' Day of the month with an 8 am shotgun followed by afternoon tee times starting at 1 pm.

We were fortunate to receive a little bit of rain yesterday to help battle the drought.  Not a significant rain but 9 mm or .4 inches to ease the pressure.  Today is supposed to be mainly sunny with a high of 27. UV index 7 or high. Tonight:  A few clouds with temperatures dipping down to a low of 13.

Golf carts ARE PERMITTED today for full use.  The driving range will be closed for maintenance between 9:30 and 12:30.

The topdressing of greens was interrupted yesterday but most of the sand was applied.  Some touchups of sand may be applied later today to ensure the isolated overseeded bentgrass areas on greens 3, 8, 10, 12, and 15 have the 1/4" aeration holes covered over with sand.  We are trying to take advantage of the opportunity to promote more bentgrass in these locations where the Poa annua has declined in the heat/drought.  This will make our job easier going forward once more bentgrass is established.

A foliar spray of fertilizer and Primo Maxx will be applied this morning on greens prior to play.

Bunker edging is now completed on the front 9.  New bunker sand was added in select areas where required.  The bunker edging will continue today as well as the ditch grooming routine and sodding of the prepped stump hole locations between No. 5 and No. 7 and by No. 1 and No. 8.

The COURSE COMMENT box will be installed behind No. 18 green before the weekend.  Please feel free to submit your comments/concerns by filling out one of the available forms.  We appreciate your input.  A ball-washer will be added to the unit for your convenience to clean your ball for your next round.

Have a great round!
