May 16th

Wind gusts up to 40km/hr off the lake yesterday added to the cooler weather
Temperatures today will be more or less a repeat of yesterday with morning low of 8 and sunny skies with a high of 16-17.  It may be slightly cooler near the lake with the west winds of 20 km/hr.

The next couple of nights are supposed to dip down to plus 3-4, so the covers on the greens will remain on to promote as much growth as possible to the recovering turf.  The optimum minimum seed germination soil temperature is 15 degrees, so we welcome the warmer night-time temperatures that are predicted in the coming week!  The greens covers will be removed temporarily first thing Friday morning to be mowed and sprayed with foliar fertilizer to help continue recovery.

Greens covers will be removed Friday morning for mowing and fertilizer app then reinstalled.
Golf carts ARE PERMITTED for full use today.  Please use cartpaths where provided and stay out of wet areas and any newly laid sod that may not be ropped off.  To aid in the ice damage recovery process during this cooler weather, 5 temporary greens remain tarped until further notice on Holes 2, 5, 12, 17, and 18. Greens 10 and 14 are open but are tarped on damaged areas.

The driving range will remain closed through this holiday Victoria weekend until further notice due to the high water levels that still remain.

The new No. 14 tee top will be sodded Friday to enable the opening of the tee as soon as possible.  A truck load of sod will enable us to sod some surrounding bluegrass behind No. 10 green and No. 13 fairway and green.  The asphalt paving is scheduled next week so the remainer of sod will be laid after the paving is completed to tie in the turf grades to the path.

The stairs on No. 15 tee are being replaced this week.  Like all infrastructure from greens, tees, bunkers, docks etc, they have a life span are now in need of replacement after 15 years.

Tee stairs being rebuilt on No. 15 tee
Have a great round!
