New expanded tee on No. 14 will be sodded today |
Another frost delay for the staff to start the day with temperatures dipping down to 2 degrees this morning as we make final preparations for our first busy weekend at the Club.
Golf carts ARE PERMITTED for full use today. Please use cartpaths where provided and stay out of wet areas and any newly laid sod that may not be ropped off. To aid in the ice damage recovery process during this cooler weather, 5 temporary greens remain tarped until further notice on Holes 2, 5, 12, 17, and 18. Greens 10 and 14 are open but are tarped on damaged areas.
The driving range will remain closed through this holiday Victoria weekend until further notice due to the high water levels that still remain.
The tee top on the expanded No. 14 tee will be sodded today. Some bluegrass surrounds by No. 10 green and No. 13 green will be sodded as well with the balance of sodding completed next week after the paving crew is finished.
We are excited about the return of warmer tempertures next week with higher daytime and night-time temperatures which will help speed the recovery of greens suffering from ice damage. We have a good catch of new grass and the existing turf is rebounding as well so all we need is to have the weather start being a little more on our side!
Court Contractors have been in this week prepping the tennis courts for the season. There will be a litmited amount of courts available this weekend, depending on the condition and progress made this week. Call Tennis Proshop at (705) 765-3163 for further information.
Have a great holiday weekend!
