June 12th

The course is back fully open after 2 days of green, tee and approach aerification

COURSE MAINTENANCE

Greens Topdressing  - The greens and tees will receive another light topdressing today to help fill any remaining aeration holes.
Fairway Expansion Aeration - The fairway expansion areas widened a couple of years ago will be aerified today and overseeded with bentgrass.  The cores will be removed using our newly purchased core harvester, then all the fairway areas will be topdressed before the weekend.
CIVITAS™ Fungicide Application - Is being applied to the fairways and approaches today.  CIVITAS™ activates the plant's own defences to boost immunity and delivers self-sustained, top quality turf that's healthier, stronger, and thus better able to protect itself from disease, insects and the elements. After all, preventing damage saves time, effort and cost than treating turf that has been damaged.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
Luckily, the threatening rain held off the last couple of days allowing us to complete the important aerification process within our scheduled time without having to utilize the rain date.  The last few nights have stayed above 10 degrees with daytime highs in the low 20's making for some good growing weather.  The greens have recovered a lot in the last week, and this aerification will be the icing on the cake to get all the greens back to summer form.  Today is supposed to stay relatively cloudy with a high of 21 degrees.

GOLF CARTS are permitted today.  Conditions have dried up quite substantially over the last few days without any rain.  Please scatter cart traffic to avoid wear over concentrated areas.

COURSE PLAYABILITY
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'.  No. 18 fairway has been overseeded to recover ice damage.  Treat any bare areas on No. 18 as 'ground under repair'.
Greens - Green speeds are slow at the moment with softness from aerification.
Rough - Mowing crew is on their second trip around the course this week.  Rough is thick but cut down.
Bunkers - The bunkers were raked this morning and more attention to sand levels in the coming week.
Driving Range -  The driving range is closed until further notice.  The PTO pump has gained over a foot of water from original levels and still dropping!
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots.  If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY.  Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.

TREEWORK
