Hopefully rain holds off as PTO pump continues to pump down driving range |
The heat is now on!!! Yesterday's high reached a balmy 27 degrees by mid-afternoon to remind us that July IS just around the corner next week. Last night's low never dropped below 18 degrees for some exceptional growing weather now upon us to kick the turf into high gear. The next week they are calling for chance of rain pretty much every day with some highs in the 30's!
GOLF CARTS - Golf Carts ARE PERMITTED for full use. Dry conditions without rain over last 5 days. Please scatter cart traffic to avoid concentrated wear patterns and use cart paths whenever possible.
COURSE PLAYABILITY
Greens - Greens will be cut and rolled today. Green speeds are becoming faster day by day with recovery of aerification holes neary the two week mark since the process was completed. Green speeds are 9 feet.
Rough - The rough cutting crew is keeping up on the battle of keeping the rough in check. The rough is thick this time of year especially with the amount of rainfall and conditions favouring bluegrass growth.
Bunkers - All bunkers are raked today.
Driving Range - The driving range is closed until further notice. Our goal is to have the range open before Canada Day. The PTO pump cannot run 24/7 anymore due to noise restrictions now in play with guests at Shamrock Lodge. We had the ditches dig out along No. 1 that helps drain the driving range down.
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'. No. 18 fairway has been overseeded to recover ice damage. Treat any bare areas on No. 18 as 'ground under repair'.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots. If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY. Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.
