Driving Range starting to recede.

 



 

WEATHER CONDITIONS
Yesterday was sunny all day the temperature reached 29, with a feel like temp of 34 degrees. Last night's low dipped down to just below 19.  Today environment Canada is calling for a mix of sun and cloud with a 30% chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon. Fog patches dissipating this morning with a high 29. UV index 8 or high.  Tonight will be partly cloudy with a warm night low of 18.

COURSE PLAYABILITY


No. 14 and 17 were slit-seed 3x yesterday to promote bentgrass after Velocity application

 

Greens - Greens will mowed and target rolled this morning.  Holes locations will be changed.  Green speeds are running at 9-9.5 feet with recent humidity.  All lingering isolated thin areas on greens have been overseeded this week as specified in yesterday's blog.  With current weather conditions, greens should see bentgrass germination within 5 days and thin areas should fill in quickly over the next 10-14 days.  No. 14 and 17 greens were slit-seeded in triple direction to encourage the establishment of bentgrass on areas where poa annua was set-back using the Velocity poa control herbicide.  With yesterday's rainfall, some topdressing will need to be reapplied over slit-seeded areas and matted in to ensure coverage of holes and slits.

Tees -  Tees WILL be verti-cut on Tuesday Morning to remove thatch and promote healthy growth. Divots will be done today on all Par 3's and select Par 4's.
Driving Range -  Due to recent wet conditions, the Driving Range is now open for PARTIAL USE ONLY. We ask that you hit only from the stations that are set up, and only at the flagsticks set up (yardages are indicated on the permanent marker).
The range will be closed during certain times to hand pick as needed, and for Junior Clinics. Thank you for your understanding.  The P.T.O. pump has been disconnected and the electric pumps are now operational to enable pumping 24/7.  This should help dry things up quicker now to get the range back to full use.
Bunkers - All bunkers will be raked today.
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'.  No. 18 fairway has been overseeded to recover ice damage.  Treat any bare areas on No. 18 as 'ground under repair'.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots.  If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY.  Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.

Plant Protection - The greens will be sprayed with a Aliette Signature & Daconil Ultrex combo as well as Primo Maxx.
