July 8th

Majority of standing water drained down at Range now with pumps running 24/7 and no rain!
It is a big milestone for the season for the Driving Range! With only 5mm rain in the last week and the electric pumps able to pump an additional 12 hours a day running 24/7, finally the majority of standing water has been removed!  If the rain holds off we should be in good shape to start using the range to it's full capacity within the next week as we continue to lower the water table.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
Yesterday was mainly cloudy and humid with a high of 29.  Nightime temperatures maintained a balmy 18 degrees to maintain soil temperatures for seed germination.  Today, mainly cloudy with fog patches dissipating and 30 percent chance of showers early this morning.  This afternoon, 60 percent chance of showers with risk of a late afternoon thunderstorm and a high of 25. UV index 7 or high.  Tonight, mainly cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers and risk of thunderstorms. Low 18.

GOLF CART USAGE
Golf carts are available for FULL USE for today.  With extra traffic with peak season play, please SCATTER to avoid compacting turf in concentrated areas.  Use CART PATHS where provided whenever possible.

EVENTS
Todays Men's Day starts at 1:30 with a shotgun to start and dinner to follow. Please indicate at checking in whether you will be staying for dinner.

COURSE CONDITIONS
Greens - Greens will be cut and rolled for today's round.  Green speeds are 9.5 feet with humid weather and slightly higher mowing heights for greens recovery.
Tees - Will be mowed Tuesday and Friday this week.  Tees will be verticut on Tuesday morning and topdressed before the end of the week.
Fairways and Approaches - Are mowed Monday and Thursday.  They were dragged this morning to remove dew for disease management to help control dollar spot and stand up grass for tighter cut on turf.

"Fairway Snake" dragging on fairways to remove dew to help prevent disease
Rough - The crew starts back up today focusing on green surrounds with the light-weight rough mowers and hole by hole with the big drag behing unit which may have to avoid wet areas.
Bunkers - The bunkers were raked this morning.
Gardens - The flowerbeds are in great shape and are nearing mid-season form as we approach the end of July.  Deer still continue to be a huge problem as weekly sprays of Bobbex are applied.
Driving Range -  Today the Driving Range continues to be open for PARTIAL USE ONLY. We ask that you hit only from the stations that are set up, and only at the flagsticks set up (yardages are indicated on the permanent marker).
The range will be closed during certain times to hand pick as needed, and for Junior Clinics. Thank you for your understanding.
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'.  No. 18 fairway has been overseeded to recover ice damage.  Treat any bare areas on No. 18 as 'ground under repair'.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots.  If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY.  Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.  Please put broken tees in the trash bin.

COURSE MAINTENANCE REMINDERS
Tomorrow, tees will be verticut and topdressed.

Have a great round!
