Moving Forward...

Moving Forward: Pin placed on front of No. 2 green first time this season!
For conditioning, this is traditionally the best time of the season for golf, and this year is no exception.  Our Club championships are timed well to match with this time slot.  While all of our greens are not in perfect condition with this year's weather challenges, we are seeing progress and have turned the corner with most of the course now in fine condition.  Today is a milestone with a front pin placement now cut in the front portion of No. 2 green for the first time this year!  It may not seem like a big deal to some, but for us in the greens department, it's been a trying year and we need to take time to celebrate these little progressions forward!

With less focus on greens recovery, our dedicated greens crew are more freed up to monitor bunker sand levels.  The bunkers were all edged this week, a tedious job the hard working crew was able to accomplish working extra hours amongst our already busy schedule during busy peak-season play.  The bunkers were checked for proper sand depths and sand was redistributed to ensure the required sand levels were present.

Greens were cut and rolled and pins changed today.  The tees were cut and the rough is completing it's final turn around the course.  The back 9 fairways were sprayed with Primo Maxx growth regulator as described yesterday along with Triton fungicide for control dollar spot disease control.

Make sure you get down to check out the bunker sand trial at the range.  We want your input on what sand we should move forward with when a bunker program is initiated.  There are 4 sands (A-D) we would like you to rate.  Please submit your feedback on the available forms and drop them by the proshop.  Or send us an email at feedback@mlgcc.com.

Have a great round!
