Calm, Cool and Collected

Cristal, clear number 13

Another beautiful weekend for golf is here. Temperatures for today are expected to stay around the 21 degree mark, with clear sky's. Very little humidity and wind will make for an excellent day on the course.
This morning, we mowed greens, changed pins, raked bunkers and changed the blocks. Green speeds should increase throughout the day with the dry weather and the settling of our top dressing that was done on Thursday. The sand has settled nicely into the canopy of the plant and has made for a firm and fast putting surface.
Numbers 2, 14 and 17 continue to be cut at a higher height of cut to limit stress and encourage the bentgrass to produce its lateral stems, stolons, to fill the voids in our damaged areas. The right side of 14 is also still roped off to limit traffic for proper seed germination. It was cut yesterday and will be seeded and topdressed again this week coming.
Ball mark repair has improved in the last couple weeks but we can still do better! If you approach a green and cannot find your ball mark, fix another one that may be hanging around and someone will fix yours later!

Enjoy the beautiful day and have a great round!
