Turf seeing surge of growth for final Ladies' Day
The course is now on a full rebound with the recent natural warm rain, nutrients available from fertilizer applied last week and the warm conditions prevailing. With night-time temperatures maintaining close to 20 degrees, the turf is loving it and is surging with growth at the moment!
As a result the greens will be playing a little slower with the softer conditions and excess growth. A Primo Maxx application will be applied this Friday to help regulate the growth for the upcoming tournament.
As we lay off the throttle a little and do what is right for the turf, this flush of growth is great to recover areas from the recent drought stress and traffic from the busy summer. The recovery with the overseeding will help fill in the voids from damage on the greens. However, with day-time highs dropping down to below 20 degrees starting next week along with night-time temperatures down close to single-digits, this surge will be short-lived as the turf will naturally start putting on the brakes as we gear up for some faster conditions for the upcoming Men's Invitational.
The final Ladies' day is this afternoon with a 1 pm shotgun start. The pink flags are out and it looks like it should be a great afternoon with temperatures of 27 degrees. There is a 40% chance of a thunderstorm so make sure to bring your umbrellas.
Tomorrow the greens will be topdressed a few days earlier then the two week interval for better timing for the upcoming Men's Invite.
Have a great round!
