A Day At The Beach - Bunker Repaired After Storm

Crew working on bunker repair on No. 5 fairway
The bunkers took a beating with the 73mm of rain that fell during Sunday/Monday's thunderstorms rolled through the area.  The crew of three has started the hole-by-hole cleanup routine this morning with other to join after there morning jobs.  The washouts on cartpaths are also being repaired with the gradall on the tractor.  Despite the large amount of water that was received, the course took it pretty well, with the ditches empty before the rain the water had a place to go.  The pumps worked overtime yesterday pumping millions of gallons of water off the property.

It's still a little squishy out there but the carts are allowed out and asked to stay high-and-dry.  We will hold off with the fairway mowing until Wednesday morning and give one more day for things to dry up and get a better cut.

Greens will be topdressed this Thursday prior to the weekend in preparation for the upcoming Men's Invitational event scheduled for September 5-7.

The seedlings are starting to germinate on No. 14 and 17 greens from last weeks slit-seeding! You are able to see the slit lines from all three directions it was done.  With this recent rain and now some sunshine, things should really bounce back quick!
