Course Closed As Big Thunderstorms Roll Through Area
Thunderstorms and rainfall continued from yesterday and all through the night and will continue this morning. At 6:00 am we have already received 60mm of rain and at least 25mm more coming forecasted later today. Looking at the radar, a big system is currently over us and a larger system is heading our way from the west.
As a result the course is flooded and unplayable and will BE CLOSED today while the remaining rainfall comes through and the water has a chance to drain off the course. The good news is we haven't lost power, so the drainage pumps are still running. At this time we have pumped off just over 1,000,000 gallons of water so far since yesterday afternoon! The greens staff was sent home for the day with no carts or equipment will be permitted on the course. With continued thunderstorm activity, no walkers should venture out onto the course and track on the saturated greens and cause any unnecessary damage.
The Men's day golf event has be CANCELLED for today. With Men's Day cancelled Chef Dave & Patricia are still happy to serve dinner for those who would like to attend. The menu tonight is USDA prime roast tenderloin. Please confirm your attendance by 11.00 am so the kitchen and dining room staff can be properly prepared. Dinner would be served at 6:30 pm.
