A Frosty Start

A frosty 11
This morning, the course was blanketed with a thick layer of frost. A crystal clear night that dropped down to 0 resulted in a very frosty start the morning. The frost does not look like it is going to lift until around 9am. Due to the frost, a series of delays have occurred. These delays include tee times and all of the turf required maintenance. This means all cutting will resume when the frost has lifted.

The aeration of the greens yesterday went very well. We did have a few millimeters of rain Sunday but the windy, dry conditions yesterday made for a smooth aeration of the greens. More sand will be applied today to ensure all of the aeration holes are filled to capacity. The greens were aerated with 1/4 tines, so this will result in the holes recovering pretty quick. Thank you for your patience throughout this important process.

Even with the cold temperatures this morning, the afternoon high is expected to reach 17 with a moderate UV index of 5.

Enjoy your round!
