aeration on practice green |
Along with the aeration, there was a little more sodding and seeding that went on elsewhere throughout the course. These areas are marked out with white paint and we ask that you please treat these areas as ground under repair. One area in particular that we are being very careful with is the roped off spot on 3 fairway. Behind the rope was an area that was a victim of ice damage. We are in the process of bringing this area back by seed. This requires patience and very little traffic. If your ball happens land in this area, please remove it and place it behind the rope.
Today on the course, it was a regular weekend morning for the crew. The pins were changed, the blocks were rotated, the greens were cut and the bunkers were raked. Some of the bunkers are still a little wet but most of the course has firmed up very nicely which will allow for full carts.
Sadly our loan Canadian at the U.S. Open, Graham DeLaet, missed the cut at the very difficult Pinehurst No. 2. I would encourage everyone to try and watch a little bit of this weeks event as Pinehurst No.2 has gone through some dramatic changes since the U.S Open was last held there. Notably, there is no rough! The rough has been changed back into the original Donald Ross design which are giant waste areas. It should be an exciting finish and a good test for the players that made the cut.
The weather today is looking like it might be a little over cast but with comfortable temperatures in the high teens.
Enjoy the day and have a great round!
