Men's Interclub Event Today Vs. Windermere

The rivalry continues between the two golf clubs along the shores of Lake Rosseau.  MLGCC hosts Windermere today in the Men's Interclub event with an 8:30am modified shotgun start.  Windermere currently holds the bragging rights.  However, MLGCC has home course advantage and should pull through with a win in today's match being much more familiar with the sloped green-sites.

The greens were cut and rolled this morning to maintain the quicker green speeds that have been maintained during this peak summer time period.  There has been only 10mm of rain in the last week which has been abnormal during this season of extremely wet weather.  The greens will be playing a little firmer and faster today as a result.

Later today is the July Junior Banquet with a buffet at the clubhouse from 5:30 to 8:00pm.  Don't miss out on this month's ceremonies.

The greens were sprayed this morning prior to play with Oars wetting agent to help alleviate localized dry spot and to allow deeper penetration of water into the rootzone.

Today is the start of the RBC Canadian Open at the Royal Montreal golf club.  Mike Weir and Graham DeLaet look to end 60 year drought of a Canadian to win the championship.  With heavy rain on Wednesday, the course will be soft and scores may be low.
