Ready For The Weekend As Drier Conditions Prevail

Extra work on bunkers with more sand added after recent stormy weather
We started the day in cool single digit temperatures and a big moon to make final preparations for this weekend's play on the golf course.  Today is expected to be sunny with a high of 25 for a perfect day for golf.

The course conditions were brought up a notch as drier conditions finally prevailed through the balance of this week.  The rough mowers have been able to catch up and get into the lower areas that have been too soft to mow as of late.  The stormy weather has been hard on the bunkers with frequent wash outs to repair.  With the sand now back in place, an effort to place more sand in many of the bunkers has been carried out to re-establish desired sand depths.  The greens were verticut and topdressed earlier in the week after being postponed a couple weeks due to the stormy weather.  The greens should put smooth and true for the coming weekend and as we head into the mid-July time period.

No. 2 green flymowed 2x per week prior to play
This morning the greens and tees will be cut, the pins changed and the rough around the green surrounds will be mowed and the bunkers will be raked.  No. 2 green will be flymowed and the ditches along No. 5 and No. 7 will be line trimmed and the hazards will be remarked with paint.

Prior to play this morning, weeds on the course roughs on the front 9 will be sprayed with Par III to control weeds such as clover.

The low area between No. 5 and No. 7 fairways in the rough was raised with fill and topsoil and then sodded yesterday to eliminate future GUR in that area.

Low spot raised and sodded between 5 and 7
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
