Course Peaking For Lead Into Week Of Club Champs

Another good stretch of weather predicted for Muskoka this weekend

Anther great forecast for this weekend predicting sunny, hot, dry weather for today, Saturday and Sunday with highs of 28 degrees for some great golf and relaxing on the dock.

The drier weather is making for some firmer and faster conditions unprecedented so far this season after mostly cooler, moist weather through the month of July.  These conditions are timed nicely leading up to the Club Championship next weekend, so get out and practice as you'll get a little more distance and bounce on your drives and a little more roll out on the greens.  The gardens are also at the peak bloom period so look around and appreciate the colour display while in around the tee decks.  Basically everything is dialed-in on the course this week so get out and enjoy the overall golfing experience!

Stimpmeter readings on greens are at peak speed of desired target range for this weekend at 10.5 feet

All playing surfaces were mowed this morning in preparation for this weekend's golf.  With the drier conditions, greens are at the peak of our established green speed target range with speeds of 10.5 feet as measured on the stimpmeter.

The bunkers were hand hard-raked again this morning correcting sand depths during the procedure.  Next week a further effort to place more sand in bunkers will be carried out to improve playability in the hazards.

As the PGA Championship continues this weekend, it looks as though the US Ryder Cup team's lineup is in jeopardy as more top players other then Tiger are dealing with injuries.  The U.S. team already reeling from the loss of Dustin Johnson, who last week announced a sabbatical from competitive golf, sustained further bad news Thursday when Matt Kuchar, perhaps its most consistent player, withdrew from the PGA Championship with back spasms, followed by defending PGA champ Jason Dufner pulling out with a neck injury in the afternoon.

Enjoy the great weekend!
