Day One of MLGCC's 35th Men's Invitational begins with increment weather probable during later matches

Teams out yesterday enjoying a practice round

Golf is like fishing and hunting. What counts is the companionship and fellowship of friends, not what you catch or shoot. - George Archer

After the rain last weekend we've had some great weather through this week including yesterday's practice round with warm day-time and night-time temperatures.  Today the weather continues to be warm but a storm system to the west is moving east expected to land early this afternoon probably during the second of the three nine-hole matches.  The winds will be from the south-west 20 km/hr this afternoon gusting to 36 km/hr for some interesting club selection!

This morning, the greens were double-cut and rolled, bunkers raked and the fairways roped to remove the dew before the  9am start-time.

Overnight, more typical fall weather will move in as the weather system clears.  The temperatures are dropping down to 12 degrees overnight and tomorrow will be a mix of sun and cloud with a high of only 18 degrees with the wind west 15 km/hr.

It's great to win, but it's also great fun to be in the thick of any truly well and hard fought contest against opponents you respect, whatever the outcome. - Jack Nicklaus

Enjoy today's competitions!
