Closing In On No. 10 Bunkers For Weekend

"Elite" bunker sand blend delivered early this morning
In a nick of time the final load of "Elite" bunker sand arrived from Ohio before 7 am this morning. The sand was placed in the front right bunker today on No. 10 green.  The sod crew could then close off and sod the front of the bunker. The bunker project on No. 10 will be complete by the end of today!

Over 32 skids of sod were laid to cover the surrounds of the new bunkers and grass the four filled in fairway bunkers.

The new expanded front right greenside bunker can be seen well from the tee.  While there may be more sand to contend with on this new bunker, it is offset by a widened bentgrass approach that is more accepting of a bump and run shot for the higher handicapper.

PLEASE STAY OFF NEW SODDED AREAS!!!

The bunkers and new sod will be GROUND UNDER REPAIR until the sod has a chance to root enough to stabilize the banks from caving in.  Until such time PLEASE STAY OFF THE SOD!!!  The sodded areas have been roped off and a ball retriever will be placed at each bunker so golfers won't have to walk on the sod.  Thank you for your patience.  A lot of work went into these bunkers and they are quite delicate at the moment.

This Monday is the 30th Dave Ellis Pro Am.  Sunday there will be practice rounds throughout the day followed by dinner at the Clubhouse.

FAIRWAY TOPDRESSING NEXT WEEK

Tuesday morning following Monday's tournament fairway topdressing will begin starting on the back 9.  This will ensure the work is completed in time for the LADIES' GOLF CAMP being held Thursday and Friday out on the back 9.

Have a great round!
