April Showers Brings Wet Course Opening Week

View from upper No. 12 tee

It looks like another great season lies ahead at MLG&CC.  The course has overwintered extremely well with the majority of the turf looking incredibly green and healthy once the snow melted last month.

Although it was looking like an earlier spring start, the continual rain and cold weather during April and now into the first week of May is making us question the status of our Friday opening date.

Looking at this week's forecast this morning, the status our scheduled opening this Friday May 5th is to be determined, after over 50mm of rain in the last few days and another 25-40 more on the way.

Stay tuned until later this week as Jordan, Julian and I will reconvene Thursday morning to review the amount of rain received this week plus a more accurate forecast of the weekend's weather.  An email notice of opening status will be sent out to all members later Thursday once a decision is made.

The saying "April showers bring May flowers" certainly holds true this season, as we await the drier, warmer weather May hopefully has to offer.  Looking forward to seeing everyone back on the course.
