May 13th

View from No. 4 tee with tree work and sodding completed
After a cold, windy opening weekend with mixed snow/rain precipitation we await spring to return.  Looks like the weather is set to reappear by mid week.  But today Environment Canada is still calling for 60 percent chance of flurries or rain showers early this morning with wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light late this morning. Today's high of 8 should is a far cry from last week's temps that were in the 25 degree range.  Tonight we will be guarenteed frost with the temperatures predicted to dip down to minus 1.

Golf carts ARE PERMITTED today for those brave enough to venture out.

Our regular mowing routine of greens, fairway and tees and approach mowing will be placed on hold for now and allow us to focus on finishing up the spring bunker prep.  We have finished the green side bunkers and are now looking to finish the remaining fairway bunkers.  We recieved a load of new bunker sand on Saturday so our goal is to improve the bunker conditions as much as possible until they have a chance to be rebuilt.

The covers will remain on greens recovering from ice damage until the middle of the week when we will pull them off to mow and apply a foliar fertilzer spray to promote and continue the recovery process.  Depending on results/conditions, the covers will remain on until the end of the week.

Have a great round!
