Fixing irrigation leak on No. 2/8 today

A frost started the morning with temperatures at 1 degree celcius postponing the start of our regular mowing routines until mid-morning.  Environment Canada is calling for mainly cloudy today with sunny breaks and a high of 13 degrees.  The rest of the week temperatures are supposed to climb more spring-like to the higher teens.

Golf carts ARE PERMITTED for full use today.  Please use cartpaths where provided and stay out of wet areas and any newly laid sod that may not be ropped off.

To aid in the ice damage recovery process during this cooler weather, 5 temporary greens remain tarped until further notice on Holes 2, 5, 12, 17, and 18. Greens 10 and 14 are open but are tarped on damaged areas.



Seed tubes are for FAIRWAY USE only!  DO NOT use on TEES!

Golfers remember the carry seed tubes are for FAIRWAY USE ONLY!  The maintenance crew repairs all tee divots, so use of the seed tubes on tees will deplete the seed available in the tubes to repair fairway divots.  Replace your divot anytime you take a significant amount of soil that will have a chance to recover.

The 8" irrigation leak on No. 2/8 will be repaired today.  It is only a slow leak out of the pipe connection, but the size of the pipe makes for more challenging repairs to the gasket in the joint requiring experienced know how.

The irrigation to the new No. 14 tee will be installed today.  Hopefully the rain holds off tomorrow to to allow for the placing of mix and topsoil over the subgraded area.  The goal is for the tee and area to be sodded this Friday.  The cartpath will be paved next Wednesday (weather permitting).  Golf will be played using the forward 'Tot tee' until sod roots have knitted into the soil.
