June 16th

Happy Father's day to all the Dads!  It is the perfect day to relax and enjoy the final round of the U.S. Open golf championship!

WEATHER CONDITIONS

There is quite a large system over us right at the moment which is supposed to last until late this morning.  There is a high of 21 degrees expected today.  The last couple of days were very dry with low humidity and high UV index.  Friday and Saturday reached a high of 22 degrees.  Saturday morning however, so the low dip to 7 degrees, for a slight cool-down in the ground temperatures.

GOLF CARTS are temporarily suspended for use with current storm activity.

COURSE MAINTENANCE
This morning the greens will be walk mowed but will not be rolled with moist conditions.
Fairway Expansion Todpressing - Holes No. 13-18 still remain to be topdressed on the back 9 following Thursday afternoon's rain that postponed this process.  We hope to complete this procedure early this week (weather permitting).

New right-front pin location opened yesterday on No. 17 green

COURSE PLAYABILITY
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'.  No. 18 fairway has been overseeded to recover ice damage.  Treat any bare areas on No. 18 as 'ground under repair'.
Greens - Green speeds are slow at the moment with softness from aerification, extra topdress and wet conditions.  Green speeds expected to be approximately 7-8 with rain.
Rough - Rough was well caught up the end of the week.  The crew starts back up Monday (weather permitting) focusing on green surrounds with the light-weight rough mowers.  Some areas are starting to show signs of leaning out from surge of growth from this springs prime growth period.
Bunkers - The bunkers in a little rough shape this moring with rainfall.  There may be some washouts and some standing water in some of our poorly draining end of life bunkers.  Raking will be postponed until tomorrow with current storm activity.
Driving Range -  The driving range is closed until further notice.  The PTO pump now only runs through the day with noise restrictions now in play.  We are now still continuing to gain on draining down the water.  If weather cooperates and we don't receive too much rain we should be able to have the range open for July 1.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots.  If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY.  Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.

Have a great round!
