| Lupins in bloom now around the course |
The Ladies' Invitational coincides with the start of the US Women's Open at Pinehurst No. 2 today. It will be interesting how the ladies do this week after the men have played on the same course for the US Men's Open last week. The world will be especially interested to see how the youngest amateur qualifier Lucy Li, age 11 from California does in the event this week.

The course went through a dry spell through the middle of May till the beginning of June but has received over 90mm of rain in the last week! As a result the course is still pretty saturated and is playing a little slower than normal. Please avoid any low lying areas with carts and try to stay "high and dry"!
A lot of sod was laid in the last couple of weeks on areas in the rough. If your ball comes up to rest in one of these areas, treat it as "ground under repair" and remove it without penalty one club length no closer to the hole.
The greens were aerated just over a week ago now and have finally just received their second topdressing yesterday (postponed by weather) to fill in the remaining unfilled holes. By next week the greens should be back in their prime conditions ball-roll wise in time for the July long weekend.
