Peak Summer and Temperatures for Pro's Day

"Beat the Pro" on No. 14 for today's Pro's Day
All things aside, the course is holding up well as we continue to fight the battle to provide ample soil moisture levels after the long, windy, dry, conditions all last week.  Saturday's cloudy sky's were a real blessing, giving at least a day's break from the continued high UV levels on the turf.

The next few days are going to be very hot and humid, feeling like 35C with the humidex, making for some continued stressful conditions on the turf.

As a precautionary measure, solid rollers are being used on the greens mowers during this stretch of hot weather to reduce the stress that can result from the aggressive Wiley rollers.

For today's Pro's day, the greens were cut, but we held off on the roll.  Relying on the lingering effects of the roll performed both Saturday and Sunday, the green speeds should still be up to standards.  The pins have been rotated and blocks are set up on the gold's for today's competition.
The fairways, approaches and greens surround rough were mowed, and the bunkers got a quick rake before the morning 8 am shotgun.

Jordan will once again be back on No. 14 for "Beat the Pro" so save some of your good shots for hitting off the 14th to the front right pin position!

With the temperatures continuing to rise over the next couple of days, we will let the foot off the gas pedal a bit, and baby the greens through this high stress period.  Tomorrow morning, the greens will be rolled with no cut, to allow for some reduced stress that results from frequent mowing.

The crew has some catching up to do this morning on some tee divots on the course and at the driving range after a very busy weekend during this peak summer period.  Thank you for doing your part repairing fairway divots and repairing ball marks!

Work will continue on some underbrushing around the perimeter of the course to help speed up play with continued work on behind No. 3 green and the right side of No. 4.

Have a great round!
