May 26th

First mow on new No. 14 tee yesterday.  Tee will be open for Dave Ellis Pro AM.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
A windy sunny day yesterday is helping dry the course.  The daytime high was only 14 degrees with the heavy breeze off the lake.  Today Environment Canada is calling for it to be sunny with a high of  17 except 10 near Georgian Bay.  Tonight the temperatures are expected to dip down again to plus 2 with risk of frost.

GOLF CARTS are permitted for today.  The course is starting to dry up pretty good now with the wind and sunshine after this week's 75mm of rain which ended Friday morning.  Still use caution and keep carts on paths where provided and avoid any wet/low areas.

COURSE PLAYABILITY
Greens - The course is starting to dry out a little and playing not as long today.  Green speeds are moderate to slow with current higher mowing heights.
Two temps remain on the course (No. 2 and No. 17) through this weekend while nursing turf through ice damage.  On No. 14 green, the sod is deemed 'Ground Under Repair' and roped off for this weekend.
Rough - The Rough is extremely long at the moment and we apologize as it was too wet to cut after last weeks flooding.  The full rough mow squad will get caught up this week as the drier conditions will now allow us as chance to get our machinery out there without causing damage.
Bunkers - The bunkers are drying out now after last weeks rains and were raked again today.  They will receive a good going over later this week to ensure sand levels and conditions are back to normal standard leading into this coming big weekend.
Driving Range - The temporary PTO pump running off the tractor continues to run 24/7 at the driving range in hope of draining down the lake caused by this springs flooding from high lake levels and 75mm of rainfall this week. Hopefully we can catch up in the next few days to open the range for the coming weekend on June 1st.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots.  If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY.  Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.

PROJECTS
The drainage installation on No. 2 green is now complete.  Grading of top sand mix and sodding will be completed Monday.  Sod on No. 14 and No. 17 greens should start to knit in next couple of days enabling us to start to smooth out surface with topdressing to get them back in regular playing condition asap.

No. 14 Tee
The remainer of sod in around No. 13 green and No. 14 tee will be laid on Monday and we plan on having the tee open for this Monday's Dave Ellis Pro Am!

Have a great round!
