June 1st

New expanded tee on No. 14 opened Friday
WEATHER CONDITIONS
Some sudden hot and humid weather over the last couple of days with temps over 30 degrees ending with a severe thunderstorm early last evening to give the course another drenching of 7mm. Today Environment Canada is calling for it to be cloudy with showers and a few thunderstorms beginning near noon with wind becoming  south 20 km/h and a high of only 21. Tonight a low of 16 with shower and a few thunderstorms ending before morning then cloudy.

GOLF CARTS are permitted for today.  With accumulation of rain overnight please use caution and keep carts on paths where provided and avoid any wet/low areas.

COURSE PLAYABILITY
Greens - Temporary green on No. 2 remains until Monday June 4th while sod laid on Wed has a chance to knit and bounce back from extreme heat over last couple days.
Green speeds are between 9 and 9.5 with recent moisture.
Rough - The rough mowers were out in full force this week to catch up on the rough.  It is growing extremely fast at the moment and we are continuing the battle to keep up despite wet conditions.
Bunkers - Bunkers will be a little wet this morning and will need more attention to shovel up sand that moved from heavy rainfall.
Driving Range -  The driving range will remain closed until further notice.  The water levels are down at least a foot from early May but have a ways to go despite our pumping efforts with the PTO pump running 24/7.  We hoped to have the range pumped down for this June 1st weekend, but the continued rains have prevented us from winning the battle.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots.  If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY.  Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.

COURSE MAINTENANCE
This week the ice damage spots on fairways No. 1, 5, 7, 10, 11, 13, 17 and 18 fairways were slit-seeded with bentgrass.

PROJECTS
No. 14 tee is now open for play with new back tee yardage of 145.

This week ice damage on the front of No. 10 green/approach, No. 2 green and the front and back of No. 1 green were sodded with bentgrass.

All the remaining prepped areas were sodded around the course with bluegrass.

Have a great round!
