June 2nd

Exercise caution to avoid wet low lying areas with recent rainfall during Dave Ellis Practice round.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
We've had 38mm of rain since Wednesday and the course has reached its saturation point on the clay low lying areas with another 6mm of rain falling between 4 and 5 am this morning leaving standing water.  This morning Environment Canada is calling for the potential of more showers and a risk of a thunderstorm and wind becoming west 20 km/h. Temperature falling to 13 this afternoon. Tonight, cloudy, and wind will become light with a low of 7 and 40 percent chance of drizzle.  For tomorrow's Dave Ellis Pro Am we're expecting a mix of sun and cloud with wind becoming west 20 km/h in the afternoon and a high of 14.

GOLF CARTS are permitted for today's Dave Ellis Practice Round.  With accumulation of rain overnight please use caution and keep carts on paths where provided and avoid any wet/low areas.

COURSE PLAYABILITY
This wet weather has been great for the sod and the ducks, but has put a damper on firm and fast course conditions.
Greens - Temporary green on No. 2 remains until Monday June 4th while sod laid on Wed has a chance to knit and bounce back from extreme heat over last couple days.
Green speeds are between 9 feet with recent moisture accumulation.
Rough - The rough mowers were out in full force this week to catch up on the rough.  It is growing extremely fast at the moment and we are continuing the battle to keep up despite wet conditions.
Bunkers - Bunkers are wet this morning with standing water in some of them.  With more rain in the forecast, we don't expect to have the bunkers to normal standards for today's round so avoid bunkers if you are able!
Driving Range -  The driving range will remain closed until further notice.  The water levels went up 3/4" since yesterday with the continued rainfall.  We continue to pump it down with the PTO pump running 24/7.  We hoped to have the range pumped down for this June 1st weekend, but the continued rains have prevented us from winning the battle.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots.  If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY.  Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.

Newly sodded areas now being mowed (No. 10 approach pictured above)

Have a great round!
