COURSE PLAYABILITY
Conditions are drier today with no rain since yesterday at 11am allowing most of the standing water to drain. Course will still be playing a little long with moist and cool conditions.
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'. No. 18 fairway has been overseeded to recover ice damage. Treat any bare areas on No. 18 as 'ground under repair'.
Greens - No more temporary greens! as No. 2 put back in play today with sod bouncing back from recent extreme heat and starting to knit. Green speeds are approximately 9-9.5 feet with recent moisture accumulation.
Rough - The greens surrounds were mowed down yesterday so today the focus will be on tee surrounds on the smaller riding mowers and where it is dry enough to cut with the big rough unit. There isn't any rain in the forecast so we should be able to catch up on the rough in the next few days but it will be a challenge as it is growing faster than we can cut it right now.
Bunkers - The bunkers were pumped out yesterday where needed. The bunkers will be still be a little wet this morning but will receive a good raking. Sand will be a little heavier than normal to play out of in most instances.
Driving Range - Despite flooded conditions, the driving range will open for players to hit balls for today's Dave Ellis Pro Am and then will remain closed until further notice. The water levels went up another 1/4" with the continued shower activity. We continue to pump it down with the PTO pump running 24/7. There is still lots of water draining into the low lying area with the difficult spring and it's just a matter of time before it will dry up.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots. If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY. Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.
